Kelley Dopson, M.D.
Dr. Kelley
Dopson graduated from the Medical College of Georgia in 1982 and completed her residency in gynecology and obstetrics at Emory
University in 1987. She has been in private practice since that time, choosing to focus on gynecologic
care of women and pelvic reconstruction surgery. Dr. Dopson moved to Women’s Health Associates in
January 2008. She operates primarily at Northside Hospital but has courtesy privileges at St. Joseph’s.
The nurses at Northside Hospital voted her the “best teacher” physician in 1992. She has given
talks for Northside in their educational series on menopause, libido, osteoporosis, and abnormal uterine bleeding.
She has served on panel discussions with representatives from the American Menopause Foundation and Dr. Judith Reichman—the
Today Show doctor. Dr. Dopson is a physician mentor for surgical support products and speaks for several drug companies concerning
contraception, osteoporosis, and sexually transmitted diseases. On a volunteer basis, she teaches high
school students about women’s health and sexually transmitted infections. She is Board certified in obstetrics and gynecology, a fellow in the American College of Ob-Gyn,
a member of the Society of Laparoscopic Surgeons, and several other professional organizations. She is
also certified by the International Society for Clinical Densitomety for evaluation of bone densities and osteoporosis.
Dr. Dopson has written several handouts with information about hormone replacement and osteoporosis. Dr. Dopson is the mother of three grown children.
She is active in her church, singing in the choir and serving on committees. She enjoys making jewelry,
cooking, and traveling.
