LaMani Adkins, MD

LaMani D. Adkins, MD, is excited to join Women’s Health Associates Group. Originally drawn to obstetrics and gynecology because of the unique opportunity to care for women across generations, Dr. Adkins values the trust her patients place in her and considers it a privilege to be part of some of life’s most meaningful moments. She believes every patient deserves to feel heard, respected, and empowered to make informed decisions about their health. Whether providing preventive care, guiding families through pregnancy, or performing gynecologic procedures, Dr. Adkins is committed to delivering evidence-based, trauma-informed care with compassion, honesty, and kindness.

Dr. Adkins was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. As a first-generation college student, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Spelman College in Atlanta, where her experience at the nation’s leading historically Black college for women deepened her passion for women’s health and inspired a lifelong commitment to advocacy. She went on to earn her Doctor of Medicine from Duke University in North Carolina and completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Duke University Health System. During residency, Dr. Adkins served as Education Chief Resident and received multiple teaching awards. While she enjoys mentoring future physicians, her greatest passion is helping patients understand their health and feel confident in the decisions they make.

Dr. Adkins enjoys caring for women through every stage of life. Her clinical interests include low- and high-risk obstetrics, preventive gynecologic care, minimally invasive surgery (including robotic procedures), adolescent and young adult gynecology, and patient education. She strives to create a welcoming environment where every patient feels comfortable asking questions, voicing concerns, and partnering in their care. 

Outside of medicine, Dr. Adkins enjoys traveling, discovering new restaurants, listening to live music, spending time with family and friends, reading, and exploring all that Atlanta has to offer, as she returns to a city that has always felt like home.
